Post Analogue Drums and Kontakt - Only Loads in Demo Mode
Sorry I posted this here...every time I try to open the "Using Analogue Drums" forum I get a blank page.

Anyway...I can't use Analogue Drums in Kontakt Player 4. It loads up fine per your instructions, but operates only in demo mode. I checked the Native Instruments website and this is what they say:

Q: Can I load any 3rd party sample library into the KONTAKT 4 PLAYER?
A: No, you can't. Only 3rd party libraries which have been produced for KONTAKT 4 PLAYER may be loaded. Non-licensed libraries can be used for 30 minutes at a time in demo mode and without the ability to save your work.

So...what am I missing? I checked NI's list of licensed libraries and Analogue Drums isn't listed.

You need to buy Kontakt.

(NI charge library makers to get a licensed library, just so you know. So either you pay or the library maker pays, increases their library price, loses sales and then you pay anyway.)

I'm posting here too because I can't seem to get anything to load from the "Using Analogue Drums" forum.

I downloaded Big Mono, unzipped it and loaded it into Kontakt 3 (full). However, when playing a standard midi file through it (set to channel 10), I only get the kick drum sounding, even though I know that other drums (such as toms, snares, cymbals, etc.) are in the standard midi file. For example, when I load another drum kit (Steven Slate, for instance), a separate box for each kit component (snare, tom, etc.) opens in the main Kontakt instrument window that lets me set the notes and articulations for each. When I load Big Mono, however, there is only one box that opens with one kit component. Do I need to load separate instances of Big Mono for each kit component in order to get the other drums to sound? If not, can you please provide me with step by step instructions to get the full Big Mono kit to load in Kontakt? The one drum I did hear sounded really good :).

Thanks!!

Read the accompanying documentation to understand how the samples are mapped.

Thanks - I read it, but do I need to open several instances of Big Mono within Kontakt, one for each kit piece, and manually assign a note to each piece?

No, Kontakt has a mapping editor, which you can use to edit the mapping.

So if I have a standard midi file with various drums, do I need to reassign the drum notes in the standard midi file to match the Big Mono mapping, or edit the Big Mono mapping to match my standard midi file?

Do whichever you find easiest. Of course, if you save the new Big Mono mapping, you can then re-use it. If you edit one GM file, you'll have the same problem with the next.

Is there a Big Mono General Midi map available already? I would think this would be useful to many people. If not, would you mind sending me the notes that each kit component would correspond to in General Midi?

Finally, if I were to purchase some of the other Analogue Drum kits, would I have the same issue? In other words, is there a General Midi map available for any one of those?

Thanks!
