Post Naming convention for WAV files
Hello,

i just bought the snares city pack to create sounds for my edrum (2Box Drumit 5) from the samples. As expected i have now more than 2000 single wav files. But i do not understand completely how the files are named. There is always a prefix which is r,R,c or C. Does this stand for closed mic and room mic? Is there a difference between lower and upper case letters?

Next are the suffixes. RH and LH are obvious for right and left and RmClck are rim clicks. But in addition there are Dyn, Hrd, Spec and combinations like DynLHHR and so on which are not clear for me.

So can anybody explain this naming convention? Unfortunately there is no description included in this package. Of course i can also hear through the samples but this a lot of work with more than 2000 samples.

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Manfred

PS. Did you ever think of offering ready to use sounds for the 2Box drums? I guess there are quiet a few people who would buy good quality sounds.

From having sorted through everything when doing my sfz mappings...

Initial C/R or c/r - carelessness, as far as I can tell ;) If you look carefully, you'll find other "mistakes", too. Yes, close mic / room mic.

LH/RH - yes, left-hand and right-hand alternates.
Rm - yes, rim click (not always the same after Rm...).

Dyn - dynamic -- the 01, 02 etc indicates velocity/volume dynamic variance for a sound.
Hrd - hard -- the 01, 02 etc indicates alternative takes but no change in dynamics for the same sound; basically rims, I think.
Spec - special -- the 01, 02 etc indicates different sounds.

HR - hot rods (from the SplitSticks kit).

ah, you probably missed the original designer's explanation
http://www.analoguedrums.com/talk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=453&start=4

moreover, now their manuals have a special section, sample organisation and naming, where everything is properly detailed
