Post Can't get out of demo mode
Hey guys,

Amazing sounding samples but I'm having a slight problem. I'm using the samples within kontakt which I got when I purchased another drum sample product, however whenever I load any of the analogue drums samples the word 'demo' appears in the sample window and then after about 15 minutes the sound goes dead and it asks me to activate the product. When I click on the link to take me to Native Instruments service centre for activation it tells me that all my products are activated however I don't see analogue drums listed?

Can anyone help me out with this so that I can get out of demo mode?

Cheers, Mark.

Ps - Also as a slight side issue, is it possible to load up two kits within kontakt? (one for close mics and one with the room mics) When I tried to do this it would only play through the kit that was at the top of the sample window (ie: the first one loaded)

From what you write I can tell you're using the Kontakt Player and Analogue Drums kits (even the latest ones) will only work in the 15 minute demo mode because they're not licenced by Native Instruments. They're fine in the full version of Kontakt because, as a paid for product, you can load anything into it. (I'll assume you realise that each time you restart Kontakt Player that you get the 15 minutes demo time).

Yes, it is very easy to load dry and room samples into Kontakt and have them play at the same time. All you need to do is change the MIDI channels of each instrument to be the same. I don't know what kit you're trying but here's a link to some very nice multi setups that somebody already made for Big Mono, Popsticks and Rockstock > viewtopic.php?f=13&t=425

If you find the 15 minute Kontakt demo mode too restricting you can always download the free Shortcircuit sampler and map your own samples (if you do this get v1.1.2 as v2 is very buggy and unfinished). Shortcircuit isn't as polished as Kontakt but for drum setups there's not much it can't do that Kontakt can (although it does take a little more effort).

Hope that helps

Or ARIA Player. I'll have some maps for that up shortly. Just got all the snares to go! :)

Cheers for the replies guys,

Yeah I was talking to Dylan about this via email and I realised that I was indeed using Kontakt player which was my mistake.

Thanks very much for the info regarding loading the close and room kits as well, that's very helpful!

Cheers, Mark.
