 Something a little less... big?
I downloaded BigMono and am very super amazingly impressed with it. And the rich tape sound... mmmm..... BUT unfortunately, BigMono isn't my style. Nor are any of the other ones I sampled through. Amazing quality, but too snappy and hard rock-ish for my taste. My little Christmas wish is for you guys to produce something more creamy-sounding, a little more folk/country-ish, Like Jason Boesel's drums on that Bright Eyes "I'm Wide Awake It's Morning" album. (Like the music or not, the drums sound great.) Anywho. If you produced such a thing, I would definitely pay good money for it. Overprice it like crazy, and I'll still buy it. I know it's probably not gonna happen, but I thought I'd throw my wish in here anyway. Keep up the good work, guys. Very impressive.

You can get a less "big" sound by reducing the amount of room mic in the mix -- or are the close mic samples still too "big"?

Re: Something a little less... big?
Sorry. Big was the wrong word. I realize that means something else as far as drum terms go. So just pretend I didn't say that part.
I'm just really impressed with this whole thing, but none of it fits my style. If it were less snappy hard rock, I would make a purchase. That's all.

I think "big" is probably okay ... Just asking if you'd had a chance to try the close mic'd, really. If it's the overall character of the kits, though, no getting away from it I guess.

This is RockStock doing electronica - though I admit I'm still a rock drummer trying to do the music justice! The snare here is the Mapex Brass Master from Snare City. I thought it might be good to hear the kit in a bit of a different context, though.
