About Analogue Drums
Analogue Drums began in 1999, producing drum samples from tape. For a long time we've kept our samples closely guarded and used them as a 'secret weapon' to augment or completely replace drums sounds. Now we're making our sample library available for sale.
Our process is simple: we take sought-after drumkits, and record them through killer signal chains directly to tape. We then convert the recordings into digital samples through premium converters, and finally map the samples to virtual instrument patches for you to use in your favorite software sampler*.
Most importantly we record to tape. This gives our samples a weight and musicality that few others can match. Grab the EQ dial or run Analogue Drums through a compressor and you'll remember why tape really shines. Tape has long been regarded as the 'glue' that holds a mix together, and there's no denying how much it flatters drums.
Analogue Drums have been extensively multisampled with up to 16 dynamic samples per key. All snare drums, toms, hi-hats and ride cymbals have separate left-handed and right-handed samples. This allows you to create extremely realistic drum parts.
We could talk about it all day but its simpler to listen to the demos. If you'd like to know more try the Frequently Asked Questions.
